Henry Hellier John HANN House and Land 0  0  2

The earliest entries would be George (1752-1833) and Mary (nee Fowler) - widow of George's uncle Arthur - who in 1790 earned 18/- from the 72 stones of hemp she grew on the field called Whitcombe Hill (there were two in 1842 so not sure where her field was) that she rented from John Wakely.  George continues to hold property liable for Land Tax until 1823, having acquired his own land by 1810.  In 1812 he is joined by his land-occupier son William (1786-1868) - though in 1816 there is reference to William Hann Jnr, indicating a so far unidentified William Snr  ? Arthur and Mary (Fowler)'s son (1749-1832) who had gone to Thorncombe but may still have claim to land in Stoke Abbott?  No  corres-ponding William being buried in Stoke Abbott, in 1815 by fellow land-occupier brother John (1755-1833) and in 1818 by land-occupier son George (1784-1870).  By 1819 George Jnr also has land of his own.  Ownership of John's land appears to change from William Wakely to John Bullen Jnr in 1823 and to John Trevett the following year.  By 1829 it has changed hands again, to Henry Hellier.  In 1826 the land owners are joined by Arthur (1784-1870) grandson of the original Arthur (1715-1783) and Mary (Fowler)
