He was reported in the Reading Mercury that he was present at the Odiham Parish Council meeting the previous Tuesday discussing what to do with the balance in their [Boer] War Fund. It was decided that the committee should make enquiries as to whether there were any organisations in the county that provided for war widows especially those of the Hampshire Regiment on 20 December 1902. He was reported in the Reading Mercury that he proposed (and was successful) to Odiham Parish Council that £42 in their [Boer] War Fund be handed over to the County War Fund for its use on 4 April 1903. He died in March 1914 at Hartley Wintney R D, Hampshire.
